Get Your Free Sudoku Fix

If you have been hiding under a rock for the past year, you may not know that the world now faces imminent dangers brought about by global warming, or perhaps you haven’t heard that crude prices has increased tremendously in the world market. Despite that, I’m sure that even beneath the rock that you’ve decided to crawl under, you have heard about the latest worldwide craze called Sudoku and you’re probably addicted to it just like every other single individual the world over.

Sudoku is the brain teaser that has taken the globe by storm. From its infancy stage of being printed out in puzzle journals via the trusted ink and paper, it has evolved greatly and it is now available in various forms by means of the world wide web to hand held games much like the now defunct brick game and another Japanese mania, Tamagochi.

How to play sudoku

From relative obscurity, sudoku has suddenly become one of the gaming world’s newest sensation. Everybody is going gaga over this simple game. Despite being non-techie as some video games may be, a lot of people are still crazy over this game.

Sudoku as the name implies came from Japan. The name means placement puzzles, which in essence, describes the game to the hilt. There are reports however that it originally started in United States, constructed by Howard Garnes in the 1970s before coming to the Asian region.
Sudoku is a numbers game that makes use of logic rather than mathematical skills. A sudoku puzzle is composed of a 9 x 9 grid that has 9 columns, 9 rows and 9 squares. In each square, there are 9 smaller squares where you need to place the numbers. The game, when first seen, can be very simple. Even the instructions are mightily simple. The only objective of the game is to place numbers inside the square with only one catch, you need to only place the numbers 1-9 in the rows, columns and in each of the squares.

Easy days of Sudoku craze

Education is a never ending process where one learns more about the world and at the same become a better person. Some of these can be acquired by reading books while others can also get this by enrolling in a class.

There are some individuals who were able to develop certain skills by working on word puzzles and other games. Those who don’t want to think much or calculate numbers in the head can try something else such as Sudoku.
Sudoku has been around for more than 15 years. This wasn’t that popular at first but has been gaining ground since 2005. The objective of the games is to fill in some squares in a grid with numbers only once.

So you’re a Sudoku addict. Perhaps you’ve had one too many close encounters with your boss on playing Sudoku on the sly. Or perhaps you’ve missed one too many appointments because you just couldn’t put the latest Sudoku puzzle down unfinished. If you live and breathe Sudoku, tell your loved ones not to fret. It’s actually good for you.

Sudoku is one addiction that is actually beneficial. Well, beneficial to one’s brain, that is. In an independent study of a science journal, having daily Sudoku doses ranks along with ten other non-traditional factors for boosting brain power.

So you’ve heard about Sudoku, the premiere puzzle that gives a tremendous brain work out to millions of people around the world. You’ve seen these puzzles printed out on various puzzle journals and it has even achieved permanent status in local news publications. What’s more, it now has its own game show.

Your neighbor is addicted to it. It’s a mainstay on computer monitors in your office when the boss is not around. If your dog could play, you can be sure it wouldn’t be immune to the addictive powers of Sudoko.
